Goshe Energy Storage (“Goshe”), a developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), today announced it has secured a strategic HoldCo debt facility of up to $40 million from S2G Investments’ Special Opportunities team. This capital will support Goshe’s mission to provide grid reliability across different U.S. markets by accelerating the acquisition and construction of late-stage development projects.

Goshe’s Bexar Energy Storage during its construction phase. It is now operating south of San Antonio, contributing to economic growth and improving grid stability in the region.
In tandem with this facility, Goshe has reached a major milestone with its first asset in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market becoming fully operational. The company closed on $288 million in project-level financing for this initial 100 MW asset, contributing to over $460 million in total capital raised to date to fund its initial portfolio, inclusive of senior debt and tax equity financing.
Goshe’s strategy focuses on acquiring late-stage development projects, securing financing, and managing them through construction and commercial operations. The team brings deep execution and financing experience across complex energy storage assets, with a track record of bringing projects through construction. The company’s second asset, a 180 MW system, is completing construction and is expected to come online in the next few months. Two additional projects are scheduled to enter construction later this year. This growth aligns with record-breaking projections for 24.3 GW of new battery storage capacity coming online across the U.S. in 2026, surpassing the 15 GW record set in 2025.
“We are incredibly grateful for this partnership with S2G. It provides us with the capital necessary to scale our platform at a time when the U.S. is projected to add a significant volume of new storage capacity,” said Bailey McCallum, CEO of Goshe Energy Storage. “By focusing on late-stage acquisitions, we move projects through construction efficiently, providing the grid with the stability it urgently needs to absorb greater renewable generation, large loads, weather events, and commodity price shocks.”
The company benefits from significant market tailwinds as the U.S. power sector sees substantial demand growth driven by data center expansion, EV adoption, and broad electrification. As renewable development grows, BESS technology is vital to grid stability during high-demand periods and extreme weather events. By load-shifting excess supply to peak periods, Goshe’s systems reduce reliance on carbon-intensive peaker plants while helping to ensure a reliable electricity supply for the market.
“Goshe has developed a differentiated model for navigating the complexities of the energy storage market,” said Andrea Woodside, Managing Director of S2G’s Special Opportunities team. “Their ability to originate high-quality projects and bring together critical financing was key to our underwriting. We are excited to support the Goshe team as they bring this first wave of assets online and continue to expand their footprint.”
With this financing, Goshe is well-positioned to execute on further project acquisitions, moving more MWh of energy storage capacity onto the grid to enhance flexibility and durability.
