MADRID, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Dionisio Gutiérrez, president of Fundación Libertad y Desarrollo, received the Enrique V. Iglesias Award from His Majesty King Felipe VI on Wednesday, November 4.

As part of the Ibero-American Summit, the ceremony took place at the Palacete de los Duques de Pastrana, where an audience presided over by the King was held. During the event, the prestigious award, corresponding to the 2025 edition, was formally presented.
Named after Enrique V. Iglesias, the first Ibero-American secretary general and honorary president of the Consejo Empresarial Alianza por Iberoamérica (CEAPI), the award recognizes Dionisio Gutiérrez’s distinguished career and his significant contribution to Latin America’s development through his tireless work at Fundación Libertad y Desarrollo, an independent think tank dedicated to promoting individual freedoms, strengthening democratic institutions, and upholding the rule of law in Ibero-America.
The ceremony was also attended by Andrés Esteves, recipient of the 2026 edition of the award, and members of CEAPI’s Board of Directors, led by its president, Núria Vilanova.
Upon receiving the award, Dionisio Gutiérrez shared a message of deep conviction and hope for the future of Ibero-America: “Ibero-America is not defined by what it is suffering today. Above all, it is defined by what it can still become. Its future will depend on the emergence of leaders willing to lift it, citizens determined to sustain it, entrepreneurs capable of financing it, and honest intellectuals committed to shaping its future.”
Similarly, Núria Vilanova, president of CEAPI, reflected on the role of business leaders: “There are entrepreneurs who create companies. Others create opportunities. And a select few leave something even more valuable: a legacy, trust, and a future.”
